S- See through His eyes

H- Honor His commission

A- Allow His Spirit to use us

R- Rely on His word and Power

E- Expect His Blessings

The Lord strikes again!! I was on my way to work Thursday morning and after coming over a little hill on Hwy 22 I hit a big deer in the center of the front end of my truck. The impact was so hard it made my airbag come out. I just knew my truck was finished and would not be drive-able! After getting out and assessing the situation I found only very minor damage!! I made it out with just a few red marks on my arm and stomach from the airbag and the very minor damage to the old work truck. Thank you Jesus !!!!!

A man was walking down a deserted Mexican beach at sunset. As he walked along he began to see another man in the distance. As he grew nearer he noticed that the local native kept leaning down, picking something up, and throwing it out into the water. Time and again he kept hurling things out into the ocean. The first man was puzzled. He approached the man and said, "Good Evening Friend, I was wondering what are you doing?" And he replied, "I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it's low tide right now and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If I don't throw them back into the sea, they will die from the lack of oxygen.""I understand," my friend replied "but there must be thousands of starfish on this beach and you couldn't possibly get to all of them. There are simply too many and don't you realize that this is happening on hundreds of beaches up and down this coast ... can't you see that that you can't possibly make a difference? The local native smiled, bent down, picked up yet another starfish ... and as he threw it back out into the sea, he replied, "It made a difference to that one!"You may feel like you cannot make a difference in the world today, but you CAN make a difference in one life at a time.

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes."

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

God has given me this day to use as I will.

What I do today is important, because

When tomorrow comes,
this day will be gone forever,
leaving in its place something
that I have traded for it.
I want it to be gain, not loss;
good not evil; success not failure;
in order that I shall not regret
the price I paid for it.

The Mouse Trap

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a
package. What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap. Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning. There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers."The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose."

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's
mousetrap alone. That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital, and she returned home with a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient. But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for her funeral; the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness. The next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember - when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk. We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage and help one another.

"When Andrew went to find his brother, he little imagined how eminent Simon would become....You may be very deficient in talent yourself, and yet you may be the means of drawing to Christ one who shall become eminent in grace and service."
Quote from Charles Spurgeon

John 1:40-42- One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

As Spurgeon alluded too, little do we know what someone that we bring to Jesus may become!! Do your best to bring someone to experience Jesus!

Start Over

When you've trusted Jesus and walked his way
When you've felt his hand lead you day by day
But your steps now take you another way,
start over.

When you've made your plans and they've gone awry
When you've tried your best and there's no more try
When you've failed yourself and you don't know why,

When you've told your friends what you plan to do
When you've trusted them and they didn't come through
And now you're all alone and it's up to you,
start over.

When you've failed your kids and they're grown and gone
When you've done your best but it's turned out wrong
And now your grandchildren have come along,
start over.

When you've prayed to God so you'll know his will
When you've prayed and prayed and you don't know still
When you want to stop cause you've had your fill,
start over.

When you think you're finished and want to quit
When you've bottomed out in life's deepest pit
When you've tried and tried to get out of it,
start over.

When the year has been long and successes few
When December comes and you're feeling blue
God gives a January just for you,
start over.

Starting over means "Victories Won"

Starting over means "The Lords' Will Done"
We need not just sit there ... START OVER.

A Soul Winning Poem

Is there anything else that is better worth,
As alone life's way we plod,
Than to find some wandering soul of earth,
And bring him home to God?

I would rather find a soul that is lost,
And bring him home again,
Than to own what all earth's acres cost,
Or all the wealth of men.

Wouldn't I be glad when the day is done,
In breathing my latest breath,
To know some word of mine had won
And saved a soul from death?

S.H.A.R.E. a Moment

Pastor Burns encouraged our hearts tonight in that we have a refuge and hope we can live in and trust in that we only find in Jesus!! It is an anchor for our souls! Jesus is the only true hope and refuge that can be found in this world. We are praying, laboring, and believing for the residents of Decatur County to find this hope in their lives as well! The psalmist said it so very well in the below passages:

Ps. 146:3-10- Put not your trust in princes, [nor] in the son of man, in whom [there is] no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. Happy [is he] that [hath] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope [is] in the LORD his God:Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein [is]: which keepeth truth for ever: Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:  The LORD openeth [the eyes of] the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous: The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. The LORD shall reign for ever, [even] thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.

All hope can only be found in the Lord!!!

Souls were of great value to Paul as we see below. What extent are we willing to go that we might see a soul converted by the mercy and grace of Jesus Christ?

2 Cor 11:23-28- Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I [am] more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. Of the Jews five times received I forty [stripes] save one.Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; [In] journeyings often, [in] perils of waters, [in] perils of robbers, [in] perils by [mine own] countrymen, [in] perils by the heathen, [in] perils in the city, [in] perils in the wilderness, [in] perils in the sea, [in] perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

S.H.A.R.E. a Moment

As we walk each day and come in contact with different individuals, let us remember the value of the soul each one possesses. Jesus put more value on one soul than the entire world. Let us be determined to be soul winners. Matt 16:26- For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

S.H.A.R.E. a Moment

Seek to be a blessing and in return you will be blessed!!

Sunday, September 19, 2010

Great time of Worship in the house of the Lord this morning! We were exhorted to give honor to the elders in our lives whom have helped us along the way. I could name many in my life who have been a great inspiration and help along the way of my spiritual journey! I pray that as I am growing older someone may look one day to me and say I have been a blessing to them as well.

Peavine Festival Share Event

Thank the Lord for two beautiful days for our SHARE booth! We gave away about 360 bottles of water, 25 preaching CD's, 2 gift cards from our "stump the quizzer booth, about 125 balloons, and a couple home bible studies! We had a fun time with the searching scientist as he interacted with folks of all ages while looking for his "victims" to bless. There were also several backsliders who were connected with by various saints that were helping out at the booth. We also had many folks that put down needs for the church to pray over. Surely the Lord is pleased with our efforts and is moving on hearts even as I type. Thanks to all for any help you provided!

S.H.A.R.E.a Moment

I stopped by the river for a second to unwind on the way home from work. While I stood there I observed two gentleman fishing. As I watched them I was reminded of what the Lord spoke to Peter and Andrew. Matt 4:18-19-  And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Its time to fish!

S.H.A.R.E.a Moment

We have probably heard it many times that there is only one ability the Lord looks for in humanity. The only ability we need to possess is availability! The definition of availabilty is: Characterisitic of a resource that is committable, operable, or usable upon demand, to perform its designated or required function!! Let us be available to be used for the Lords purpose as he would call upon each of us. I want to be available upon demand! Let us determine to have availabilty in our hearts and lives for the Lord to use us as He desires each day.

S.H.A.R.E. a Moment

A new study says that college students who are on Facebook while studying or doing homework wind up getting 20 percent lower grades than students who don't have the social networking site in visual range, or even running in the background on their computers or mobile phones. Kirschnera told the Daily Mail that his team studied 219 U.S. university students between ages 19 and 54, and found that Facebook users had a typical grade point average of 3.06, while "non-users" had an average GPA of 3.82.

I found this interesting and wondered what it would show if we could measure what percent our social networking, texting, net surfing, etc.  cuts into the time we spend in prayer, bible study, family devotion, meditation, kingdom work.................. Our modern technology is wonderful but let us be determined to use it wisely and seek to use it to further promote the Lords work in anyway possible.

S.H.A.R.E. a Moment

What a beautiful day! As we spend time together on this federal holiday with family and friends let us remember the words of the Lord. "Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed."

S.H.A.R.E. a Moment

What an awesome service and moving of the Spirit this morning! There were many guests in service with us for which we are very thankful. Surely there were seeds that were planted in hearts that will one day sprout up as they are watered! The S.H.A.R.E. team met briefly after service and we are excited about what the Lord is doing!! There was a wonderful Spirit moving amongst the team as we worked on plans for our first S.H.A.R.E. event at the Peavine Festival on Sept. 17-18. We are relying on and expecting the Lord to put His blessings upon it!!

S.H.A.R.E. a Moment

As I am leaving my house today, I am committing to seeing Decatur County "through His eyes".

Thursday, September 2, 2010

S.H.A.R.E. a Moment:

When Jesus appointed and sent them into every city and place where he himself would come, he spoke to them " The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest." Let us pray that the Lord would beckon others throughout this county and region round about us to S.H.A.R.E.
